Post Mounted Mailbox

Mailbox was in great condition and looked very nice! We mounted over existing 4 x 4 post which worked very well and took less than an hour to assemble and affix to post. The only hiccup was the pilot holes on the mailbox mounting plate didn’t line up with the mailbox holes, but we just drilled new pilot holes. Love it!!

I love this mailbox.It is gorgeous and sturdy.I have only had it up a week and already have gotten tons of compliments on it!I love the hanging address plate.It is so different and unusual from the other mailboxes in my neighborhood.The actual metal mailbox is a bit narrow but it stays closed.The flag and the door can be adjusted for easier movement.Another beautiful touch is the bottom post.The detail is stunning and really dresses up the post.The post has a pretty cap on it.The cap does not require any special attachment, so I think I will do exactly what the other reviews said and get a white screw for each of the three caps and put one screw in each so that they do not fall off.They are pretty firmly placed but i’m doing it for more of a just in case measure.

We used the existing 4 x 4 from the last mailbox, cut down the vinyl post with a liter saw and had to trim the post down with a jig saw then put the new one in place and added some screws to secure it in place then covered those up with the decorative bottom. The rest was easy, holes lined up perfectly and it was together in no time. Added some glue to keep the end caps secured. We do have a white vinyl fence in the backyard and around the garden so this was a perfect item to tie it all together and make it look much nicer.
