Sliding roof design: The canopy is installed by sliding panels that you can easily control covered or discovered. There are sealing strips between roof boards and frames that will prevent water and running out directly.

My husband and I put this together in 2.5 hours one day and 4 hours on another day (we had to break it up because we were so busy that weekend). We did have to purchase a couple more brackets to better fasten it to our home, and the roof does leak a very small bit during a very big downpour, but it’s great and exactly what I needed. I couldn’t really afford a more expensive pergola that already contained walls and things like that right now so we had to improvise and paint and attach wood to it for curtain rods and clear tarp for walls for cold or rainy weather. We also have a space heater in it and it functions well as a heated cabana for enjoying the chilly springtime; my family and I love hanging out In it!It looks a mess right now because I haven’t quite finished altering the clear tarp walls, putting up all the screen sides, and putting up these adorable teal curtains that I just ordered. I work full time so I have to do things in increments and take my time so it looks right. I’m so excited! I’ve gone through 3 canopies these past few years that have all been beat up or dragged away by storms, so I finally decided to just go ahead and purchase a pergola and I’m so glad that I landed on this one. We’ve had one big storm with heavy winds and it is still sitting strong! Maybe I can update this review later with the finished pics when I’m done.
