The Gibraltar Pedestal mailbox and post combo is an attractive and classic statement piece for your landscape. Its handsome charm extends past its looks to many features including full-service locking capabilities. The Pedestal’s side locking door has a wide opening to easily retrieve your mail. For outgoing deliveries, simply secure mail onto the outgoing mail clip, located inside the front door. The red outgoing mail indicator extends straight outwards to alert the postal service and the extra-wide slot provides generous space for high-volume deliveries. With its large 1,250 cubic inch capacity, the Pedestal is fully qualified to securely store days worth of mail. The post is made of aluminum, and the mailbox is constructed from sturdy heavy-duty cast aluminum. The front door features an inviting embossed eagle, and the flat surface below can be customized by adding numbers and letters. Assembly hardware is included for easy installation.

I wanted to wait a while before reviewing this item because I wanted to see how it would stand up to our extreme weather. I can honestly say I LOVE the look and security with this mailbox. My husband was a little nervous because of how you install it to the concrete slab he didn’t feel it was as sturdy as a previous mailbox he had installed at our first home ( we keep buying houses without mailboxes apparently ) where the stand was put in the ground and filled with concrete. This mailbox you put a bracket in the concrete alas and then bolt the mailboxes stand to the concrete via the bracket. So far it has stood up to our 50 mile an hour wind gusts and snowfall, I am impressed. The only thing is that there has been times when the mailman has had to bring small packages to our door that probably would have fit in a standard mailbox. I love it and the security because our mailbox is a ways away from our house.
