It must be secured with a weighted base (sold separately) or other weights (sandbags or bricks). We highly recommend a base (SKU: W007398554) for this heavy-duty umbrella.
Assemble Tips: Before opening the umbrella, please attention to the FOUR telescopic ribs. Pulling out these four telescopic ribs, then fully open the umbrella.

This umbrella was the perfect solution for our pool lounge area(s).Sadly, we’re loosing the trees in that area that have always provided ample shade.
Make sure you purchase the weighted bases unless you’re planning on permanently bolting them into place.

I did it as a 1 man job. All the parts are quality. There is even a cover included that it’s great fabric and covers the entire product.
Yes you need to buy the weights to hold it down. Cantilever by definition means a load ( the umbrella) supported at the opposite end. So Yes its off balance . A worthwhile investment for an expensive quality product.
