We love our new potting bench.! We got the natural color, but painted it with an oil to make certain it was weather proof. It was very easy to put together. My husband said it was probably the most efficiently engineered piece of boxed furniture he’s ever put together. That is truly a compliment from him. It IS beautiful & I love it!

Wow. I put this together 3 years ago. I purchased some spray-on varithane from a local home improvement store and sprayed on a couple coats. it’s been outside, year-round, under pine trees on the deck for all these years, and still looks great. Since it’s next to the BBQ, put some hooks on the side for the BBQ tools, too.

It was pretty easy to assemble and I did it by myself. I’ve had quite the ikea assembling experience so if it is your first time I would ask for some assistance. It is sturdy and came as described. I will definately be putting some out door paint on this, in the near future just to extend it’s lifetime.
I use it next to my patio table to store my grilling tools, and great for when we are dining out side to use as a buffet.
Pros: fairly easy to assemble.
Cons: hooks were flimbsy so I simply didn’t install them

I was a bit scared when I ordered this because a lot of reviews said it came in pieces, however I knew Wayfair is great about sending replacement parts so I went ahead an ordered it. I love it!! It was double boxed when it arrived. The outer box held another sealed box inside, which contained all the parts. Everything was properly packed and nothing was broken or missing.
I do not have a covered area to place my bench, so we started our project by laying everything out and spraying both sides with Thompson’s Water Seal Spray (2 cans – $15). With drying time, it took a little over two hours. Putting it together took under an hour. I would definitely recommend this. It was well priced and if you take the time to protect it and then once a year respray it, I think it will last for many years. I also bought little plastic feet (8 pack – $5 – you need 6) to tap into the bottom of the legs, so the wood does not sit directly on the ground. I would follow all these steps, even if you have it in a covered area. I’m very happy with my purchase. Merry Christmas to me!!
