We use it to collect condensation from our central a/c, not the rain gutter just a pvc pipe. We are amazed at how quickly 40 gallons fills up! We are in FL with its heat and humidity. We use it with an extendable hose to water plants and so far are collecting about 40 gallons a day. The hose drains by gravity, no pressure, but it waters nearby plants and fills watering cans for other areas and potted plants. Free water!
As we enter our cooler, drier season I expect that the daily collected amount will decrease. In all, we are very pleased with the purchase.

Not many purchases in life can actually save you money. Some are cheaper than alternatives and you save that way, some are meant to lower costs after a very expensive installation (windows) and I still can’t tell a difference in my Elec bill, but there are others that are undeniable value and definitely make an impact.Summers here can be harsh on grass. We get heavy rain, then nothing.Watering the lawn can be the only way to keep your yard looking semi green. These barrels actually will make a difference in your water bill. They fill up quickly, amazing how much water collects in one summer shower, and provide a much better watering solution than city water hookups.Plus, there’s no monetary cost to rain water. Its free.Simple, smart, earth friendly, wallet friendly.
Pros: Easy to hook up and use, no college degree needed to operate, lightweight, color options to suit your home
Cons: Not gonna move when full (but why would you want to), recommend stand if placing in grass of the grass will die underneath.
