Just as described, these lava rocks are great to put in an open fire pit. They are not meant for decoration, but more as a protection for the fire block against a wood fire. The only problem is they are sold by the pound and I did not order enough. Decent product.

We have a propane fire pit on our back patio that we purchased about two years ago.We use it a good bit, and recently noticed that the lava rocks were starting to get discolored.I came across these Onlyfire Lava Rocks and thought I would get a 10 pound bag of the two inch lava rocks for an easy upgrade.
Some of the two inch rocks were a little bigger than two inches, which made them too big for our propane fire pit.We just saved those for another project.These lava rocks are nice quality and a fun texture, and the 10 pound bag was more than enough to redo the lava rocks in the top of our propane fire pit.If you have a larger area to cover, it may be hard to gauge how many bags you need.
