Craddock Bio-Ethanol Tabletop Fireplace with Flame Guard

This is just amazing! We were sceptical, despite reading all the reviews. Couldn’t really believe it would give off much heat. Nevertheless, we ordered one on the basis that it wasn’t very expensive, so nothing much to lose if it was garbage. Well, today we used it for the first time and got quite a surprise. We love on a little island close to Vancouver BC and we built a small house last year for permanent occupation in our early retirement. I hate woodstoves so ignored advice to install one. The house is extremely well insulated, but of course for power outages we needed aback up heat source. When I discovered this bio-ethanol fireplaces I was excited that I could have exactly that without the year-round impact of a permanent fireplace. Yesterday we got a foot of snow and of course the power went out on the island when a tree came down across the lines. That was around midnight, when we were already asleep. We woke this morning to a cold house – no heat for ten hours by the time we got out the little fireplace and set it up. In no time at all it was pushing out the heat and warmed the place up, keeping us cozy for the remaining four hours the power was out. It was amazing just how efficient it is. So much so that when the power came back on the heating didn’t even kick in (in the room we were heating).It will run for 2.5 hours on a fill and then just wait 15 minutes before filling it up again. It’s aesthetically very pleasing too and we enjoyed the flames. The room we heated with it is our living/dining/kitchen which is about 350 square feet. If the house hadn’t cooled down overnight it would have kept a much larger area at a comfortable ambient temperature. Just before the power came back we were about to open the door into the rest of the ground floor.
I would highly recommend this product. I was wary about it being made in China, but really it’s just a simple metal vessel with no moving parts, so there’s nothing to malfunction.
The white that we chose, is quite a stark bluey white and not quite as creamy as it looks in the ad.

This is the most beautiful and easy to use tabletop fireplace. We’ve used it on our outside patio table , screened in pool area on the bartop and on our glass coffee table. The flame is mesmerizing and beautiful. I’m going to order another !!!
