I love this barrel! It’s much more visually appealing than the converted 55 gal drums and looks great on my patio. But like my Momma said, looks aren’t everything! It was also easy to assemble and all the necessary tools were provided (well, they give you the drill bit but you still need a small power drill). The directions are clear and easy to follow. You do want to be precise when setting up the diverter to prevent the water from overflowing or not flowing into the barrel at all.
Also, take the time to clean your gutters before installing and consider mesh or gutter guards since this model does not have a screen at intake. Another tip: even though it doesn’t require it, I recommend a thin application of silicone around both spouts and the intake hole.

So far so good! Both barrels are full. Love the design. Other reviews complained about the lid being hard to close- if you thread it on (keep turning it) it doesn’t take too long, but someone else will need to hold the barrel. We want to order 3 more!! But they’re out of stock! We have black gutters so it’s a really sharp look in person; best looking barrels I’ve seen.

These barrels were fairly easy to install and are much more attractive than others I’ve seen. I used the planters on top for vinca, sweet potato vine and citronella. They all grew beautifully!! I hop these barrels work just as well for the second season.

This is exactly what I wanted. It holds a ton of water and doesn’t draw mosquitoes because it’s completely enclosed. I did buy a brass upgrade kit. Highly recommend!

this is such a great invention. I had been considering one for quite a while but thought it would look ugly and wouldn’t work properly. I was wrong this is really wonderful. Very easy to install (for my husband anywaY) works great, and is attractive

This my second barrel. I am connecting them so I can capture more rain for the garden. The barrels are very sturdy and the first one is five years old and still working great. The top is too shallow to plant in for me. Love them.

You need to be a bit handy to integrate this into your downspout, but looks great and it’s very sturdy. Love the lid that can reverse into a flower planter. Read the directions and you’ll do fine.Great value for the price.
