After reading some reviews I was concerned that my cabinet would arrive damaged as several other customer’s reviews discussed. I can understand why
after I rolled the very heavy 6 foot 2inch (+) box into the garage using my furniture
dolly. The box the cabinet pieces were packaged in was badly beaten up. I
expected the worst when I opened it but found only minor damage to a couple of
corner pieces and a scratch which was luckily near the lower rear side of the
cabinet. The few small styrofoam pieces inside the container did appear to help
minimize the damage to some degree.I would strongly recommend the
manufacturer package the cabinet with much thicker cardboard on the ends of the
boxes. It was evident that the cabinet had been dropped a couple of times, tearing
the package open where the damage occurred.
I carefully unpackaged the pieces which
were labeled according to the instructions, took inventory of the pieces, (which were
all there), and read the instruction booklet. It was well written with lots of drawings
depicting each step.It will be helpful to have some assistance when assembling
and standing the cabinet up and also when squaring up the cabinet prior to nailing the
back onto it.
I followed the steps exactly and the
assembly went well with no major glitches. I did have to adjust the door hinges but the instructions to do so were in the assembly instructions.
When complete the cabinet looked very good aside from the small damage noted above. Once adjusted the door gaps looked good and the doors opened and closed well.Overall I’m very pleased with the cabinet.

HERE IS THE CATCH:
There is one step which I feel is essential that is not in the directions:When you have the cabinet frame face down getting ready to nail on the back of the cabinet, check and make sure the cabinet is square!If you don’t have a framing square handy, just use a tape measure to measure from corners to opposite corners on the back face (your measurements should cross each other like an X).If you are square, the measurements will be the same.We got lucky on our first cabinet and it is fairly square, but our second was wildly off which caused the doors to be misaligned.We didn’t think to check for square on either of the first two, but if we order a third one, now we know.
Don’t let all that scare you away from this great deal!Good quality as always from Wayfair.
